The perk of silicone is that is lasts much longer than water and even oil based lubricants. Oil based lubes are great because they are slick and multi-purpose. They can easily double as a soothing massage oil. In fact, many lubricants also come in varieties that are warming and cooling, as well as edible formulas that contain delicious flavors and aromatic scents.

In addition to being symbiotic with your body, lubricants are also excellent for use with toys. However, certain toys are only safe with certain lubricants. For example, silicone based lubricants will dissolve the surface of silicone, and oil based lubricants will also damage the surface of latex and rubber toys. In this way, water based lubricants have the perk of being the most versatile.
